Lake Kariba Weekly Levels in Meters
The Kariba Lake is designed to operate between levels 475.50m and 488.50m (with 0.70m freeboard) for hydropower generation.
The Lake level is steadily decreasing due to low inflow being recorded on major tributaries discharging directing in the reservoir and the mainstream Zambezi River, closing the period under review at 475.82m (2.27% usable storage) on 17th December 2024, compared to 477.15m (11.41% usable storage) recorded on the same date last year.
