The Zambezi River Authority (“the Authority”) has set aside funds for road construction works during the 2026 financial year and intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments under the contract for Construction of a new access gravel road under the Devils Gorge Hydro Electric Scheme Project.
The Authority is a corporate body jointly and equally owned by the Governments of Zambia and Zimbabwe (“Contracting States”) and is mandated with the management of the Kariba Complex and the stretch of the Zambezi River (from Kazungula to Luangwa in Zambia and from Kazungula to Kanyemba in Zimbabwe) forming a common border between the two Contracting States.
The Authority now invites sealed bids from eligible and experienced Bidders registered in Zambia for the construction of access gravel road detailed in the Request for Bids and the summarized schedule of requirement in the table below.

Bidding will be conducted using Open National Competitive Bidding in accordance with the Authority’s Procurement Policy and Procedures. A complete set of tender documents are available on the Authority’s Website;
Bidders shall submit their bids, one (1) original and two (2) copies and bids must be deposited in the TENDER BOX placed on the Ground Floor Reception Area, Kariba House, 32 Cha Cha Cha Road Lusaka on or before 26 July 2026, 16:00 hours Local Time in a sealed envelope clearly marked “TENDER FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF NEW ACCESS GRAVEL ROAD FOR THE PROPOSED DEVILS GORGE HYDRO ELECTRIC SCHEME and accompanied by a signed Bid Securing Declaration. Telegraphic and telefax offers will not be accepted.
Clarifications regarding this tender must be submitted to the Authority in accordance with provisions stated in the tender document.
